“Sculptor of the Thirties” - Alfred Janniot |

| Organised September 12th – December 9th 2007, the exhibition “Sculptor of the Thirties” (Sculpteur des Annees Trente) at the Musee des Beaux Arts in Nice is dedicated to Alfred Auguste Janniot. The sculptor is the representative of Art Deco style and is known for his wonderful sculptures. His works can be seen in many French cities such as Paris, Bordeaux, Puteaux, Chateauroux and of course Nice (memorial to the dead). Among the main themes for the artist’s works is mythology and naked female bodies whereas his ideal is the eternal, fertile and voluptuous woman. The exhibition gives you a chance to get familiar with Janniot’s honed, marble, plaster, terra cotta and bronze sculptures, as well as his oils, drawings and engravings. |
