A Dialogue: Rene Rimbert-Marcel Gromaire

Musée International d'Art Naïf Anatole-Jakovsky is located in the beautiful Château Ste-Hélène building and bears the name of one of the world’s most known art critics, Anatole-Jakovsky. The permanent collection that you can see in the museum once belonged to Jakovsky and contains about 600 works of art, from primitive to more up-to-date ones. But it is not only permanent collection that can be observed at the museum. From June 19th to October 21st 2007 you can visit an exhibition “UN DIALOGUE : René Rimbert-Marcel Gromaire”. This is a new look on works by two artists: René Rimbert – who participated in the first exhibition of the Naïve art in 1937, and Marcel Gromaire – a renowned representative of the XX century avant-garde. The exhibition shows aesthetic relations between these artists, with correspondences and documents displayed.
